Jena Ashton
Hi, my name is Jena, I recently graduated with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology. I am currently a Registered (Candidate) with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists. Prior to counselling I completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology Neuroscience at Acadia University. I am passionate towards Developmental Therapy and how we grow and adapt through the course of our lives.
Maneuvering life can be overwhelming at times, making it my goal to create a safe and inviting space where you can be yourself. I enjoy working with young minds as we explore emotions, behaviours, and feelings, understanding them better along the way. Working along youth I have gained passion in helping navigate big transitions such as life events, relationships, or trauma in manageable ways. My approaches to therapy include traditional talk therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). I work with children, teens and adults.
When I am not working, I enjoy reading, cooking, hanging out with my cats and camping!
