Eric Eisener
Hi! My name is Eric, I am excited to be a therapist with the Headstart team. I have recently completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. I bring with me over 15 years of experience of working with children, youth and families in different settings and aim to provide a supportive, safe, accepting environment to the families I work with.

I previously completed a Bachelor of Social Work degree and have worked in supporting children, youth and families in Community Services as well as a school social worker with Schools Plus for the past 6 years.

My therapy is informed by a number of approaches including Play Therapy (Level 1 Training completed), Emotion Focused Family Therapy (clinical training completed), and CBT and ACT approaches. I have also completed continuing education certificates in Child and Adolescent Mental Health (through Douglas College) and Solution Focused Therapy Training (through Dalhousie University).
My goal and stance as a therapist is the following:
1) That clients and families are given a safe space to explore their stories and experiences, to gain awareness, and to fully experience their experiences;
2) That our stories and experiences matter and have an impact on us;
3) To listen to, validate and raise awareness of these stories;
4) To work and walk with the client towards healing and wholeness as they see it.
Outside of my work I enjoy spending time outdoors, enjoying beaches, hiking, exercising, playing sports, music, and time with my family and friends.
